In October 2021, Elaine Faye convinced her roommate Jo to join her in creating a k-pop reaction channel. Their shared passion for visual arts and music fueled engaging commentary as they explored numerous music videos together. Over time, they expanded their channel by featuring guests, offering them a “kpop crash course” of sorts.
JO + ALLISON
Among these guests was Allison, an award-winning film director, whose humor and cinematographic insights enriched the channel. When health challenges arose, Elaine handed over the torch to Allison as the co-host, ensuring the channel's continuity.
Tragically, in November 2022, Elaine Faye lost her battle with breast cancer. Her passing left a profound void, not only for Jo and Allison but also for the channel's viewers, who had grown to love her vibrant presence.
Jo and Allison decided to keep the channel going to honor Elaine. K-Pop and k-dramas added so much healing to her life and we want to do the same by aiming to spread joy to both themselves and their audience.

THAT'S WHY WE CALL YOU OUR "ROOMIES"
Elaine was Jo's Roommate. Allison was Jo's Roommate. Therefore, by extension, all our amazing Patrons are also our Roommates.
But we like to call you "ROOMIE" because it's fun.
